There are very few times that FemmeFunn as a brand has disappointed me. In fact, every time they have come out with a new bullet-vibe, I say to myself “Oh, I know it’s gonna be good!”. So it shouldn’t be a surprise at all when they came out with the Booster Bullet that I kept the same energy when I put it to the test. Let’s just hope they reciprocated.
Design and Materials
The FemmeFunn Booster Bullet is made entirely of silicone, waterproof, rechargeable via magnetic connection, and has 20 vibration modes. It also features a boost button and a memory function where it will remember the last vibration mode you used before turning it off. Lastly, the FemmeFunn Bullet comes with a magnetic charging case that can also be used for storage. The Booster Bullet also comes in 3 colors: Pink, Purple, Red, and Sky Blue. I chose sky blue because it was the closest color to aqua or green and the most unique-looking color in my personal opinion.
The Storage/Charging Case
FemmeFunn has once again changed the game by including a charging/storage case with their new bullet-vibe, and I am as always, thoroughly ecstatic about it. I can’t tell you what it is about me and storage pouches, storage bags, or storage cases coming with sex toys, but I love it. I love a good storage bag. They’re great for so many reasons, and the fact that you can not only store the bullet in this one but charge as well is just the icing on an already sweet cake.
For one, I love that the case is a little bit bigger than the bullet it’s intended to carry because you can fit it practically anywhere and it prevents the Booster Bullet from accidentally turning on during travel. I also like that there is an under part (I don’t know a better way to describe it) that allows you to store the charging cable on the bottom and the bullet lays on top. The only thing I would caution with the case as it pertains to the piece that lifts up is that it’s not attached to anything and can come off. When mine did, and I misplaced it, I noticed that when I would sit the bullet inside the case, the top part of the bullet would tip over into the lower part of the case and that would cause the base of the bullet to tip upward and disconnect from the magnetic charging connectors inside the bullet, making it a bit of a challenge to charge the bullet inside the case. So make sure you don’t lose that inside piece because it’s not there just for looks.
Beyond that, the case works like a charm, and I enjoy being able to charge my bullet inside the case with the option to charge it directly with the same USB that charges the case. The charging indicator light on the case stays a bright steady blue which is actually more annoying than the red charging indicators that I usually don’t like, but I recently came to the realization that I would rather have a red charging indicator than a blue one because red lights are darker and blue lights are lighter. Go figure. I don’t want my slight dislikes to take away from the case because I absolutely love it.
In Use
The first bullet I tried from FemmeFunn was the FemmeFunn Ultra Bullet. It was one of their first bullets, and I didn’t know what to expect going into it because I didn’t really know much about the brand, but I believe they were relatively new, at least to me. I was absolutely blown away by at how strong the vibrations were and how flexible and squishy the silicone was. I mention this because the Booster Bullet favors the Ultra Bullet aesthetically and when I finally got my hands on it, they looked pretty much the same. What was different, however, was that the Booster Bullet lacked the squishiness that the Ultra Bullet has in the base. The Booster Bullet is also a tiny bit more rigid throughout. You can interpret that as is it being less soft or being well-built. Whatever the case, there will be no more comparisons beyond this point.
Before I go on to the vibrations, I wanted to get the things I didn’t like about the Booster Bullet of my chest. Its only one thing really, but it’s important because I’m gonna need sex toy companies to take major notes on this. In my personal and professional opinion: Vibrators with more than 10 vibration functions/modes should NOT have a memory feature. For those who don’t know what a memory feature in a vibrator is, allow me to share some knowledge. It’s a feature programmed into the motor of a vibe that will enable it “Remember” the last vibration mode/function/pattern/speed you were on when you turned it off.
I, for one, love the feature and appreciate it for the times when I want my vibrator to remember the last mode it was on. However, this is a rare occurrence. In the case of the Booster Bullet, it has a whopping 20 vibration modes/functions. Unless you’re someone who has grown fond of a particular pattern and use it to the point where you don’t want to have to scroll through to get back to it, then it’s feasible in my opinion to have the feature. Especially, if the pattern is unique to that particular vibe. I would instead like a way that you can lock the pattern in place, but now I feel as though I’m swimming in a weird part of the pond because that sounds similar to the same feature that I’m telling you I dislike. But I digress. I will use this thing a million times and get off with it, but I will not care for that one feature.
The Booster Bullet features a cylinder shape with a rounded tip that can be used for both pinpoint and broad stimulation. Some folks like to use it for internal stimulation, but that’s my thing personally. And it’s not anal-safe because it doesn’t have a flared base, so don’t try it for that either. I personally prefer a tapered tip than a rounded or bulbous tip because of how I used my bullet vibes. I typically use my bullet vibes on my side when I place it on my clit, before turning it on laying on my side and watching some porn. If I’m with my partner, then I’m usually laying on my back.
The vibrations are very fast-paced and buzzy with a great deal of bass to it. So it is crazy strong. I also have been noticing that engineers have been getting pretty crafty with how they make their vibrations. You see, you’ll never see slow-paced vibrations paired with a buzzy motor because it will sound like an angry wasps nest and it will annoy your genitals to no end. I will say for a buzzy motor, it’s really strong. I get off every time I use it and sometimes have to dial it back a little when it gets to be too intense. My clit of steel approves.
Let’s briefly talk about where the Booster Bullet gets its name from. The “Booster” in booster bullet comes from the second button located under the power button represented by a lightning bolt. When you press the button while the Booster bullet is turned on, it will deliver a huge boost of powerful vibrations that have no pattern. It’s just a really strong speed that you can use when you’re ready to get off and put things into overdrive.
The Booster Bullet’s 20 vibration functions break down into 3 speeds and 17 patterns. The only thing that annoys me about this is that they could have added 2 more speeds so that we would have 5 speeds and 15 patterns. It doesn’t really happen very often that we get a bullet vibe with 5 speeds and the opportunity was wide open, and FemmeFunn’s for the taking. Why didn’t they take it?
With that being said, I don’t know if the booster button would count as a 4th speed or is it supposed to be the 3rd speed on speed dial. The booster button spread isn’t any stronger than the 3rd speed, so my first theory was definitely wrong. Nonetheless, I have grown quite fond on the booster button as I usually use the first two speeds to get off with and I might play around with some patterns like the one that yo-yos from low speed to high-speed vibrations if I’m feeling fancy. When I’m ready to cum, I press the booster button, and away I go. Straight to one of my happy places.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the FemmeFunn Booster gets my seal of approval. If you’re looking for something pretty, powerful, and functional all in one package, then this one is for you. It’s a great travel toy, and the booster button is something most women with a clit of steel like myself will enjoy.
