Clit Bae #5: VeDo BAM Bullet

The VeDo BAM Bullet was one of those sex toys that as soon as I held it in my hand for the first time, I knew I would love it. I heard good things about it and therefore I expected nothing less than to be swept off my feet. Then one little issue got In the way of that, and now I’m thinking that I may have spoken too soon.

Design and Materials

The VeDo BAM is made of silicone, ABS plastic, and is rechargeable via usb. It has a cylinder shape with a tapered  tip and 3 patterns of intensity with 7 patterns of vibration. Additionally, it’s also water resistant. Rather than specific measurements (because who the fuck cares about measurements, am I right?), I will say that this bullet is significantly larger than most bullet vibes on the market. Or at least what I have encountered so far. Don’t depend on this fitting a wide range of bullet-compatable toys. I have even read that some use the BAM for internal stimulation, which is fine, just don’t put it up your butt or too far up that kitty cat where you cant retrieve it. With that being said, I didn’t use it that way.

In Use

As soon as I pressed that shiny silver button, I was immediately startled by how powerful the VeDo BAM was. I was expecting more of a buzzy tune rather than a rumbly one, but none the less it didn’t disappoint. Ms. BAM came to show out at the party and that she sure did!

Before I talk about vibrations, let’s talk about how the BAM feels on the skin. It has a matte silicone that covers its rigid body. It’s smooth, silky, and feels great on the skin. I have come to develop a special appreciation for matte silicone as it provides a little bit of traction when playing on slippery surfaces such as a body part that is wet with lube or vaginal lubrication. That with the combination of its size works great for how I typically use my bullet vibes. I lie down, place it on my clit, then close my legs, lie on my side, turn it on, and play. I find that the BAM stays in place and doesn’t move much even after I start to get wet.

Now back to those vibrations. They can be described as rumbly with some buzz. Normally, when we think about vibrations that are buzzy, we think about the annoying buzzing sound that a fly makes, and if it’s annoying to the ear, it’s usually annoying to the genitals. Like a familiar clit vibe that left me very underwhelmed.

Of course that wasn’t the case here. So in the beginning I told you how surprised I was when I first turned the BAM on right? I used the word startled and that essentially encapsulated my experience with this vibe. The vibrations are fast in terms of speed with no build up to them. Great if you want a quick orgasm. Not completely ideal if you want to take your time.

Don’t get me wrong. I have had and am still getting many orgasms from the this vibe, but I find that I need to use a less powerful vibe to start with or else I’ll end up over stimulating myself and won’t be able to orgasm with the BAM.

So that one thing I don’t like is related to my previous statement but not in terms of power and speed. It has more to do with the ordering of those speeds. If you have ever owned a multi-speed vibrator, no matter the toy style, it usually has speeds or levels of intensities followed by patterns. In this case, the VeDo BAM has three speeds and seven patterns. They got the pattern part right. What they messed up on however was the levels on intensity. For the sake of demonstration, well refer to them as strong, stronger, and strongest.

Those are the first three speeds that you cycle through before the patterns. However, strong, stronger, and strongest are backwards so it’s more like strongest, stronger, and strong. See? Not much of a convenient opportunity for build-up. When I touch it to my clit and turn it on, it’s like an instant jolt of energy. The biggest issue with this that if you want to start with “strong” speed/intensity first, you will have to cycle your way to it, then cycle all the way around to get to the “stronger” and “strongest” speeds. I can live with it but it’s still annoying nonetheless.

I will mention that as an added bonus, you make the BAM travel safe by simply unscrewing the cap before you travel with it. Just be sure to put the cap where you can find it as it won’t turn on without it.

The Verdict

The VeDo Bam Bullet is one of those sex toys I think everyone should have in their stash. Despite my complaint, it’s still a decent vibe that has tons of power and is very reasonably priced. If your new to vibes, as in not having much experience with them, this one is easy to use. If you’re someone who doesn’t like strong vibrations or you like a vibe that slower in terms of speed, I can’t recommend this to you. If you have a clit of steel and love strong vibes, I say get it.
