The Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand has to be one of the most interesting wands I have ever encountered. It has this pleasant old school vibrator aesthetic to it while featuring a very unique looking head. And while I did make some hasty assumptions about this wand before I even touched it, I have to say that my negative expectations were not met. Instead the Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand has earned itself a place in my nightstand draw. Yep. She’s a keeper. Let’s talk about why.
Design and Materials
The Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand is made of silicone and ABS plastic, is rechargeable, and has 5 speeds and 7 functions (patterns). I believe that the handle has some kind of coating that lays over the top of the ABS plastic but I haven’t found any information on what that coating is, but there has to be one since it feels very silky and smooth to the touch.
According the Evolve Novelties website, the Luminous Love Bud Wand is “Waterproof Fully Submersible”. That’s exactly what the video said so that’s what I’m going with. I will say however, that I did not at any time fully submerse my wand in water to clean it. I wiped it clean with a wet wipe. But is supposed to be waterproof.
In Use
I was looking up at my TV when I turned the Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand on for the first time. I felt the handle of it vibrating ever so slightly but I didn’t hear it. I put my TV on mute and looked down at the wand to hear what has to be the quietest vibrations I have ever heard from a vibrator. It’s so quiet that when I am using it under my covers, I can’t hear it.
The aesthetic of this wand like I said before is old school. The combination of the pink, white, and blue light that flashes when it’s charging and in use, gives the Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand a soft look. Even the white handle is soft-looking and doesn’t have that sharp starkness to it that some vibrators that come in white can have. The 3-button function is easy to use and scrolling through the vibrations isn’t bothersome. While you can’t go back to a previous vibration functions (patterns) while scrolling, the buttons are very responsive which makes going back around to look for a pattern easy without having to turn the wand off then on again.
The nice thing about the Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand is that it comes with 5 speeds and 7 functions (I like to call them patterns). Because you can customize the speed of each pattern, you get a grand total of 35 different vibration combinations. Because of this, I felt more encouraged to utilize the patterns where I normally don’t because I don’t like patterns. I will say however that I mostly used the steady vibration function because I just like consistency in my life.
As for the vibrations, I would describe them as rumbly with teeny-tiny bit of buzz to it. The vibrations are surprisingly powerful for vibrator that looks like it came straight out of the early 90’s. I say slightly buzzy because I can feel some buzz but my clit wasn’t annoyed like it would normally be with vibrations that are completely buzzy. Instead, I found that the slight buzz paired with the rumbly vibrations helped those vibrations to reach deep and made stimulation more effective for me. I also found that I wasn’t so quick to yank the wand head off my clit from over stimulation.
The “petals” kinda flare out and away from the wand which I found to be useful for pin-point stimulation by placing the edge of the petal on my clit. Rubbing the petal up and down on my clit felt nice to. I felt like I got a 2-in-1 with this wand as I get both pin-point stimulation and broad stimulation. The neck of this wand is by far the most flexible neck I have ever come into contact with. It is what I would call truly flexible while maintaining consistent vibrations.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Luminous Love Bud Massage Wand provided me with a unique experience that I was not expecting to get judging solely on its classic-looking aesthetic. I thoroughly enjoyed this wands functionality, vibrations, and design. I would imagine this wand would great for those who don’t want a noisy vibrator, lives with roommates, and wants a wand that can provide both pin-point and broad stimulation without the additional purchase of an attachment. I also think those looking for a lighter wand in terms of weight, will like this as an option.
