They say that if you tried one wand, then you’ve basically have tried them all, right? I mean I don’t know who they are, but if that was the case then three things would happen: Clouds would fall out of the sky, sex toy companies would stop making new sex toys, and you wouldn’t be reading this right now. When Vibratex comes out with another addition to the already amazing Magic Wand series of wand vibrators, it’s a big deal. Why? Because how can an already amazing sex toy get any better? What will they do next? A Magic Wand mini? A mermaid could dream. Until then, let’s talk about the Magic Wand Plus.
Design and Materials
The Magic Wand Plus is a corded wand vibrator made of two parts: A silicone head and an ABS plastic body that encases a super-charged powerful motor. I know that last part sounded a little subjective, I’ll talk about that later. It features a large silicone head for clitoral stimulation and relief of muscle aches if you choose to use it for such purposes. Most importantly, it features a 3-button control with 4 intensities, no patterns, and a 6-foot removable cord for easy travel, and storage.
The Past, Present, Future, and Orgasms
While I am trying my very best to approach the Magic Wand Plus with a new set of eyes like I do with every other sex toy I review, I can’t help but feel as though this is somehow a sequel to my Magic Wand Rechargeable review I did or the Junior to the Original Magic Wand Sr. In any case, when this bad boy came out, I was excited for many reasons. Anything Magic Wand always piques my interest. And because I wanted to see how Vibratex (The Company that makes the Magic Wand) would re-invent the wheel on such a huge cult classic without tarnishing its good name.
The Magic Wand Original is a great vibrator because of its simplicity and efficiency in delivery powerful vibrations, excellent stimulation, and great orgasms. The Magic Wand Rechargeable is a great vibrator because it comes with all the modern amenities needed for that modernized feel and aesthetic needed to compete with similar products on the market in the modern world. They made it (Magic Wand Rechargeable) rechargeable, gave us a silicone head, a removable cord, the plug-n-play feature so you can play while you charge it, and patterns just in case you wanted them with the option to increase the intensities on each of those patterns. So what I’m basically saying is that the Magic Wand Rechargeable was already a perfect toy.
What does the Magic Wand Plus have to offer that the Magic Wand Original and the Magic Wand Rechargeable don’t? Nothing. You see, the Magic Wand Plus is a mixture of features that make it modern like the Rechargeable version but also adds the convenient features that the Original just doesn’t have. The Magic Wand Plus has a silicone head, a 3-button function but no patterns, and a removable 6-inch cord but this wand does not have the feature to plug-n-play, so you can’t use it while charging it. Why Vibratex?
I would think out of all the features they would put into a new magic wand, they would have put the plug-n-play feature in it. I mean think about it: A mid-priced magic wand that has 4 intensities, detachable cord, with plug-n-play capabilities? Don’t threaten me with a good time, now. I also would have forgiven the fact that the cord is only 6 feet if that feature was included. Why can’t we have a 10-foot cord? Why not give us the option for a longer cord as an add-on, or separate purchase. To my knowledge, there is a 7-foot cord available for purchase, but that’s just not good enough for me. I like a long cord and because it’s not rechargeable, that cord thing is even more annoying.
With all that being said, there is some plus’s to the Magic Wand Plus. A detachable cord means easier to travel with. There was nothing really wrong with the Magic Wand Original as it relates to travel because you don’t need a travel lock for something that only works when it’s plugged in. That’s just my opinion though. Also, I find that many people store their Magic Wand Originals by wrapping the cord around the wand which can cause premature shredding of the wires and eventually cause it to short out and stop working. A detachable cord means fewer bends in the cord and a longer-lasting vibe. And while I don’t care for the sole 7-foot cord option for purchase, if your cord on your Magic Wand Plus gets a short in it, you can simply replace it without having to completely replace the wand, which saves you money. A major plus.
Now we can talk about the most important part of this review: The vibrations. Because the Magic Wand Plus isn’t rechargeable and doesn’t have patterns, I didn’t think it would fair to hold it up against the Magic Wand Rechargeable. And I’m not really trying to pit vibrators against each other, but because the Magic Wand is so popular and frequently purchased, I wanted to focus my review on helping other decipher the difference between the three to help them pick one that best suits their needs.
The vibrations on the Magic Wand Plus are 110% rumbly. If you’re someone who absolutely hates buzzy vibrations with a passion, this vibe has your name all over it. The body of the wand doesn’t shake like crazy while you’re using it so you won’t get that annoying vibrating hand feeling that you can get when you’ve been holding a vibe for an extended period of time. When I place the Magic Wand Plus on my clit, I feel these intense vibrations that not only stimulate my clit but my vulva as well. And they reach deep. One thing that annoys me, however, is that because I like pin-point stimulation as oppose to broad stimulation, I can sometimes find myself getting too much power from the Plus, where I have to tap it on my clit so I don’t overstimulate myself.
With that being said, you can purchase a ton of different attachments for additional stimulation, so expect a Magic Wand attachment “Taste test” if you will, coming to you in the future. For now, I don’t have a problem with doing my little tap dance on my clit because I found that the slight teasing I get from it helps me to cum faster. Kind of like a fast-track to edging.
Final Thoughts
For those who have never experienced a Magic Wand before and are interested in buying one, I would suggest either getting the Magic Wand Rechargeable if you want a rechargeable wand that you can also use while its charging or the Magic Wand Plus if you want a wand with crazy strong vibrations that you can detach the cord from at your convenience and 4 levels of intensity. Lastly, if 4 levels of intensity doesn’t impress you or the idea of a detachable cord make light up and leave you feeling all fuzzy inside, then I recommend picking up the Magic Wand Original. What the Magic Wand Plus does is act as a median for the Magic Wand Brand in its features and its price point. Now, I don’t know about you guys, but what I’m waiting on next is a Magic Wand Mini.
