The Chaiamo by Rocks-Off has to be one of the most basic vibrators that I have reviewed this year, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Bells and whistles on sex toys are cool and whatnot, but if the power (if you’re in the market for a powerful vibe) and functionality isn’t there, then what’s the point? Sometimes you want something that just gets right to the point and does a good job at whatever it’s supposed to be assigned to do without all the extra stuff like features no one asked for or needs. Like remotes in non-wearable vibes or vibes that give you an unnecessary dance show. The beautiful thing about the sex toy industry is that there are so many items on the market, that there’s usually something for everyone.
Design and Materials
The Chaiamo by Rocks-Off is a rechargeable vibrator made of silicone and Abs plastic, featuring a tapered tip, 10 vibration settings, and 1-button functionality. It comes available in 3 colors: Black, Burgundy, and Teal. I have the Teal color.
In Use
The Chaiamo from Rocks-Off features a cylindrical shape with a tapered tip that can be used for both broad and pinpoint stimulation. The silicone is body-safe, of course and has a nice feel to it, though there is a visible seam along the front and back of the vibe, but you won’t feel it during use. Cutting to the chase here, the Chaiamo reminds me of one of those battery-operated vibrators that I bought when I first started getting into buying sex toys. In fact, the Adam&Eve Blue Dolphin Vibrator that I got as my first-first sex toy came with one made of plastic that was light pink with little studs around the base where the battery would go as a free gift with purchase. I didn’t use it because it wasn’t as powerful as the Dolphin vibe that I purchased, but I noticed that it was a very popular first-time toy for many.
Now, why am I saying all of this? Well, the design of a sex toy is fundamental. Some of the most simplistic sex toys on the market can give you some of the best orgasms and sensations you have ever experienced. However, it’s not very often that a sex toy with an over-complicated design blows me away. And sometimes a mermaid likes to enjoy the simpler things in life. That’s where the Chaiamo comes in. I think of it as an upgraded version of a beginner’s sex toy. I love that its rechargeable, and I love the one-button function. It’s ridiculously easy to use, though I don’t care for the 3-second on/off delay and wish it was 2-seconds instead because yes, every second counts.
So let’s talk noise. It’s loud AF. And it’s not your regular run of the mill “vibrator noise” that you’re used to with that tend to have a low buzz or even a low hum. In my personal opinion, it’s almost as loud as a plug-in wand, so it will most definitely be heard during use. It’s not the biggest deal to someone who lives alone, but to someone who doesn’t, it can be a small nuisance. Using it under a blanket can help with muffling the sound a bit. Though you can’t get too mad it since what you’re hearing is the sound of power!
That’s right. This vibe packs a punch in the vibrations department. I have a tendency to automatically lower my expectations to basic-looking vibes, mainly because I’ve tried so many vibes at this point that I usually know what I’m getting into before turning it on. Regardless of that, I know better than judge things based solely on aesthetics because looks can and are usually deceiving. For example, when I say the Chaiamo on the Lion’s Den website, it looked like a bullet-vibe. So when it finally arrived, and I took it out of the box, I said to myself “Why would they pair a small toy with such large packaging?” My question was answered when I took it out of the box.
While the Chaiamo falls into the slim-stick vibe category, I have to say that it’s quite large. Despite having a tapered tip for pinpoint clitoral stimulation, which you can also use the flat side for broad clitoral stimulation (a personal favorite way of how I like to use it), you can also use it for internal or g-spot stimulation as it has some girth to it. I think folks who are looking for a rumbly vibe that doesn’t take after the male anatomy in its design can appreciate it for what it is. A simple straight-forward rumbly vibe.
Getting to the point now, the vibrations are rumbly. Very rumbly. Deliciously rumbly, if that’s even a thing. So rumbly, in fact, that shakes my hand when I hold it. For some that can be a con but also a testament to just how strong it is. Depending on how I place it on my clit, it can also stimulates my vulva which feels pretty damn good. In my personal opinion, there are no buzzy vibrations here, only rumbly, so I gotta give it to the folks over at Rocks-Off for outfitting this vibe with such a powerful motor.
Final Thoughts
The simplicity of the Rocks-Off Chaiamo Vibrator is what makes it a great vibe. It’s easy to use and packs a punch in the power department. Vibrators like the Chaiamo hold a special place in my nightstand and in my heart because they remind me of the sex toys I started out with while also giving a modern spin to them with higher quality materials and powerful motors. With all that being said, it has my blessing as a toy, I think, belongs in your pleasure tool collection.
