I decided to try an all-time favorite and beginner-friendly butt plug named The Little Flirt from Tantus. It’s made of 100% platinum silicone, waterproof, can be sanitized with a water-bleach solution, boiled, with soap and water, cleaned with your favorite toy cleaner, or you can simply throw it into the dishwasher. Yes you read that right. Though I wouldn’t suggest that last one if you live with roommates. Or people who don’t like butt plugs in their dishwashers. Most importantly, it has a flared base, making it anal safe. I got the chance to try the old and new version to do a comparison. So let’s talk about it. Well let’s read about it.
Intimidation Factor: Non-Existent
I can say without a doubt that this has to be the least intimidating butt plug I have ever experienced. I would say that it’s the size of a pinky. So imagine a pinky in your butt. Or maybe not, your choice. The exact measurements are 0.8 inches wide and 3.35 inches long. It has a nice tapered tip for easy insertion, gets a little wider in the middle, then tappers back down into the neck which leads into a flared base.
Little Flirt (Old Version) In Use
Before we get started, I would like to add a disclaimer that the old version of the Tantus Little Flirt has since been discontinued and is no longer available for purchase. Not that you’ll miss it with the new version around. You can probably find it somewhere if you google around for it, but I personally wouldn’t suggest it.
The biggest difference between the new version of the Little Flirt and the old version of the Little Flirt is the base. It was chunky, a bit clunky, and even though there were some curves to make it more comfortable to fit between the cheeks, I found myself having to take it out allot sooner than I wanted to because it just didn’t feel good. The base felt awkward in use, in functionality, and aesthetic-wise as well. It also felt weird to sit down on because the base was so wide.
I found insertion of the plug to be easy and thrusting it in and out was a nice sensation, if you’re into that. The glossiness of the silicone if you will, worked with the lube to create a more slippery experience. I will say however that it picked up every piece of hair, lint, and dust known to man. Definitely not a toy you can leave out in the open just for that reason alone. I put that bad boy right into a zip lock bag right after cleaning it.
The Little Flirt (New Version) In Use
When it came to the re-invention of the Little Flirt, I felt as though Tantus wanted to switch things up while maintaining the original concept of this of this butt plug. Keeping it beginner-friendly while making it more comfortable to wear, and switching it up with its matte satiny-feeling silicone that no longer picks up every single piece of hair and dust humanly possible like its predecessor. The matte silicone feels very velvety and smooth and when compared the shiny silicone on its predecessor.
When inserting the plug, I found it be quite an enjoyable experience. The rounded tip went in with ease and I felt the slightest bit of stretching as it got wider in the middle and tapered back down into the base and got the same feeling when taking it out. I love the seamless transition this plug has when inserting and taking it out and found thrusting with the new version to feel equally similar. I like doing some light thrusting with the Little Flirt because I like the feeling of going over the part of the plug that transitions into the widest part. It feels lovely.
When it came to wearing the plug, the base takes on an unusual curved shape that sits nicely between the cheeks. Way better than its predecessor, but can do a weird pokey thing that doesn’t always feel the greatest but that depends on your body. I did find however, that I felt significantly more comfortable wearing it for longer periods of time. So it’s still a winner and a plug I still use very often. How often you ask? I’m wearing it right now 😉
Final Thoughts
Throughout this review you’ll notice that I keep saying the phrase “Beginner-Friendly”. That’s for many reasons. For one, Tantus advertises the Little Flirt as such and I genuinely think if you’re considering venturing into the wonder world of anal play, you should know that there are options available to you at every comfort level.
The Tantus Little Flirt is a great quality product, decently priced, and that non-intimidating factor makes it the ideal beginners butt plug. While I did like the shiny silicone on its predecessor, I don’t miss it enough to go back to it or that chunky base which made wearing the plug for extended periods of time difficult. So, I say all that to say if you’re looking to purchase your first butt plug, I personally think you should start here.
