So here’s the thing: I was pretty surprised when Le-Wand expanded their line of sex toys, coming out two bullet-style vibes, a palm vibe, a USB stick vibe, and a two-prong vibe. If you’re familiar with my blog, then you already know what I wanted to get my hands on first. I was supposed to feature the Le Wand Grand Bullet in the second installation of my #ClitBae series as a round-up with 3 other bullet-style vibes, but as soon as I got my hand on it, I knew it deserved its own in-depth review. So here it is.
Design and Materials
The Le Wand Grand Bullet is a bullet-style vibrator made of body-safe metal, rechargeable via a USB/magnetic connection, has 11 vibration modes with 4 intensity settings, 7 patterns, featuring a one-button operation, and travel-lock. Additionally, it comes with a textured sleeve and ring, both made of body-safe silicone, and a storage bag. The Le Wand Grand Bullet is available in two colors: Black and Rose Gold. Additionally, it also comes with a storage bag. I have it in color Rose Gold.
In Use
Now, where do I start? The design. The Grand Bullet by Le Wand features a cylindrical shape with a rounded tip. The insertable part widens in the middle to the tippy tip. We’ll touch more on that later. The overall aesthetic is sleek and of high quality, which I am loving. I also love the color options: Black and Rose Gold. I chose the Rose Gold color because I have more than my fair share of black-colored sex toys, and I just love how the rose gold looks. I actually wish more companies would start coming out with different colors that go against the industry standard. Because even if a sex toy is being marketed towards women, not all of us like 50 shades of pink, as previously mentioned in my other review *cough cough*
When I first picked up the box the Le Wand Grand bullet came packaged in, I was taken aback by how heavy it was. I mean yea, I knew it was made of metal, but I really wasn’t expecting it to be so heavy. Holding the bullet in my hand, however, I admired how sturdy it felt. It was almost like that feeling when you get a new cell phone, and you have to adjust your hand to hold a larger phone. I wasn’t used to holding a bullet-vibe this heavy but adapted quickly with no issue.
Before using the Le Wand Grand Bullet, you will have to deactivate the travel lock that comes activated on the device. I personally feel that it should start to become an industry standard for sex toy companies to include travel locks on their motorized devices as many individuals like myself are now traveling with their sex toys. Travel locks not only prevent accidental turn-ons during travel but also make a toy easier to store with other items without having to worry about another item; it is stored with touching the button and turning it on. I can’t tell you the countless times a vibrator turned on in the middle of the night when it stored in a bag, my nightstand drawer with other sex toys, and scared the shit out of me. In fact, it’s the reason why I have to keep certain vibrators in the manufacture’s packaging it came in, additionally making me look like a hoarder. *sigh*
The Le Wand Grand Bullet claims to be 40% stronger in vibrations compared to its counterpart, the Le Wand Bullet, which is a smaller and more compact version of the Grand Bullet. I don’t know how true that is because I don’t have the bullet in question to test, and for me to confirm that, I would have to have it (i.e., the Le Wand Bullet) to compare it to. So I’m happy that Le Wand didn’t say it was stronger than most bullet-style vibes on the market because I would then have to read them for filth as no company can say that a product they created is better than most products in the same category without mentioning that specific product and brand in question. And I personally think when you have a great product, it will always speak for itself. The Le Wand Grand Bullet does just that.
Now, I will say one thing: The Le Wand Grand bullet is surprisingly rumblier than a good amount of the bullet-style vibrators I have used it in the past. And by the past, I mean this month because I’m always testing out bullet-style vibes because in case you haven’t noticed, their kind my go-to sex toy of choice. Because a good amount of bullet-style vibes, for the most part, are small, they are usually fitted with a smaller motor, thus making the vibrations they produce to be buzzy. In fact, there aren’t many vibrators that have rumbly vibrations except for a few.
I find that the Le Wand Grand Bullet produces rumbly vibrations out of a theory I was working on from my review with the B-Vibe vibrating Snug Plug, which I postulated that the reason why the vibrations on it (vibrating snug plug) was rumbly, was because the plug is weighted. The only reason I’m mentioning that in my review of the grand bullet is because the bullet is relatively heavy in hand. This could also be from the fact that is made of metal, and metal is heavy as water is wet. I’ll be dressing up as Captain Obvious for Halloween.
Nonetheless, the vibrations are strong though a fifth intensity setting would have helped it out some. The first intensity isn’t as strong as I would like, so I automatically default to the second intensity first when I start using it. I find rumbly vibrations to be ideal when using a vibrator on my clit for longer twenty minutes because it prevents me from getting stimulated too fast which for me when that happens, I can’t come no matter how strong the vibrations are because I am overstimulated which in turn, makes annoys my clit. Sometimes, depending on how aroused I am, I’ll start out with a rumbly clit vibe then bring it all home with a strong, yet buzzy clit vibe.
While I do enjoy the textured sleeve that comes included, I would have liked some different texture options like one with a wave pattern or with smaller dots. Another thing I will say, which is very subjective, is that I wish the textured sleeve didn’t come already placed on the bullet because it’s a bitch to get off. For me, the textured sleeve that comes included simply doesn’t do much because the dots are too large.
The included textured ring confused me when I took it out of the box. I was like, “What the hell do I use this for?” It wasn’t until I saw the animation on the Le Wands website that it all made sense. The textured ring can be used in combination with the textured sleeve for both internal stimulation and stimulation to the vulva. I don’t use my clit vibes for internal stimulation, so I didn’t use it for that purpose. If I try it out that way in the future, I’ll let you know. I think it’s an excellent add-on for those looking for a different kind of stimulation, but it just wasn’t for me.
One thing I will say about the Le Wand Grand Bullet is that it’s pretty quiet for a vibrator. Vibrations never go unheard, but when they are decently quiet, they’re worth mentioning. I find buzzy vibrations to be louder than rumbly ones. The vibrations are definitely more emphatic than the vibrations from a cellphone, but far more pleasant than your “traditional” louder vibe. No weird tremble or rattling.
Final Thoughts
For a vibrator with a $100 price tag, I think the overall theme here is Luxury. You get what you pay for, and with a vibrator like this, you’re getting exactly that. If you’re someone who likes rumbly vibrations exclusively, then the Le Wand Bullet would spot on for you, and the added feature of a travel lock is always a huge plus. It’s not very often that I encounter a rumbly bullet vibe especially one made of metal, so this one is quite unique.
