The Gvibe Original has always been on my wish list of sex toys I always wanted to get my hands on out of genuine curiosity. An all-purpose sex toy that can be used in multiple ways for multiple bodies. Years later, I was presented with the opportunity to review the most current model of the Gvibe: The Gvibe³. Though I always thought the design and idea behind the Gvibe were cool in theory, I got a little bit of a gimmicky vibe (no pun intended) from it. Nonetheless, I still wanted to see what it was all about and, most importantly, how strong are those vibrations.
Design and Materials
The Gvibe³ is an anatomical massager made of medical-grade silicone and ABS plastic, rechargeable via USB/magnetic connection, 100% waterproof, has 3 motors (1 in the shaft, 2 in each tip), features 6 vibration modes with changeable intensities, travel lock, and storage bag.
In Use
The first time I had ever heard about it was when I stumbled upon a video on YouTube. A sex educator was featuring it and talking about how innovative the design was because of its versatility. I can’t find the video anymore (I think it might have been deleted) and don’t remember the educator’s name, but I will link it when I find it. Nonetheless, I was intrigued because I never saw anything quite like it.
The Gvibe³ gets its new name from its 3 motors, 1 located in the shaft and two in each tip. It dawns a 3-button operation in the handle, which is comfortable to hold and operate one-handed. The silicone is firm yet plush with some give to it and practically seamless. While I usually don’t mention packaging in my review, I have to say that this packaging was done nicely. The box is of quality construction, so much so that I use mine as storage for my Gvibe³. If that’s not your thing, it does come with a storage bag that can fit both the vibe and the charger for travel and maybe a bottle of lube. Just make sure it’s water or oil-based.
Despite all of that, the only thing I don’t care for aesthetic-wise is the color. While I love a bubblegum pink color on my nails, I don’t love it on my sex toys. The color combination with the gold and pink is pretty and not tacky-looking by any means, but I would have liked to see some other color options. The previous versions of the Gvibe had a lovely blue color option, and I’m so hoping that they will consider bringing it back one day. The sex toy industry, in general, needs to cancel the color pink. There. I said it. It plays too much into gender norms, and quite frankly, it’s time for a change. The Gvibe website says that it (Gvibe³) comes in different colors, but as far as I know, this is the only color on the site. I’m assuming they’ll roll out another color sometime soon? Maybe.
The Gvibe³ presents many opportunities for experimenting with the sensation of vibration since it can be used for both external and internal stimulation from g-spot to clitoral, anal, and erogenous zones. I’m a huge fan of their illustrations, demonstrating how it can be used for both solo and partnered play. And because its body-safe, it can be easily sanitized and shared with other bodies.
Here’s how I used my Gvibe³: Clitorally, with one of the tips on my clit, internally with both tips inside me, on my nipples for the hell of it, as a dual stimulator with one tip on my clit and the other inside me, and anally for some light rimming. Clitoral was my go-to. The vibrations cause the tip to bounce on my clit, which I liked. It also stimulated my vulva in the process. I find that when clit and vulva are being stimulated simultaneously, I not only come faster, but my orgasms are intensified. What upped the ante on that was the number of intensities the Gvibe³ has. 10. At least, that’s how many I counted. The Gvibe’s website doesn’t specify the number in their specs section.
Let me expand on the intensity part. With this vibe, you get 6 vibration modes—one pattern of continuous vibration and 5 patterns. You can then intensify those vibrations with the 10 intensities. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, it doesn’t remember your vibration settings. It will power on to its default settings when you turn it off. The vibrations are mostly buzzy with some rumble. The rumble presents itself more as the intensities increase.
Additionally, the noise level of the vibrations is at a respectable minimum. It remains decently quiet even at the highest intensity sounding like a low rumble. My biggest gripe with the Gvibe³ is the travel lock, or so they call it. While I was reading the instructions on how to activate it, I discovered that it was non-existent. The Gvibe³ features what is called a delayed activation. Most vibrators on the market these days have them. It will usually require you to press and hold the power button for at least 2-3 seconds before your vibe starts buzzing to life. That’s what’s really going on here. Calling that a travel lock is misleading by definition as there is 1: no travel lock to activate/deactivate, and 2. The delay activation will still turn on the Gvibe³ during travel if it’s touching up against something in your luggage or drawer. And believe you me, I tried multiple times to activate a real travel lock out of this thing. It didn’t happen for me.
I also enjoyed it internally. Vaginally speaking, the Gvibe³ is designed to stimulate both the g-spot and the p-spot. Admittedly, I don’t have much experience with p-spot stimulation, but I did enjoy the g-spot stimulation and the fullness I got while thrusting with it. Smooth/non-textured insertable toys have a special place in my heart, and I like how it felt pushing up against my g-spot. I also got a stretching sensation around my vaginal opening, which I did like as well. I will say that for me, thrusting with vibrations no matter the toy can be a little uncomfortable for me, especially when it something on the girthier side. I did, however, enjoy the vibrations internally without thrusting.
I found myself using a clit toy; usually, a bullet-style vibe or a wand with the Gvibe³ inserted. I tend to get wet during my play sessions- like Niagara Falls level wet and find that insertable toys don’t stay put unless they have some girth. This has nothing to do with how toned the PC muscles and more to with the amount of lubrication the body produces. The Gvibe³ stays where I put it once inserted and even when I make slight movements.
Anally speaking, the Gvibe³ is suitable for anal play. Though it doesn’t necessarily have a flared base to prevent advanced traveling up the butt, it does have a handle. I only used it a handful of times for that and found the vibrations pleasant for me on the lower intensities, but (no pun intended) I would rather use a butt plug instead, as a personal preference, though I can’t deny its versatility.
Final Thoughts
Overall the Gvibe³ turned out to be a pretty solid device. It has powerful vibrations, can be used in multiple ways for multiple folks, and lets you customize your experience with its unique shape and patterns with customizable intensities. It’s not a gimmick; it’s a good sex toy. And right now, during Black Friday week, you can save 20% off of the Gvibe³ and all the other toys from Gvibe with the code BW20.
