Its been a while since I reviewed a wand and then the Pink B.O.B Lust Silicone Wand came along. And while I thought it looked familiar to something I tried before, I decided to give it a whirl and what its really made of.
Design and Materials
Pink B.O.B Lust Silicone Wand made of silicone and abs plastic, is rechargeable via usb, is water-proof, has 8 vibration speeds (or intensities), and 10 vibration modes (or patterns). You can customize and play around with the setting on the B.O.B by changing the patterns and intensities independently of themselves for a more customizable experience. If I were to describe what B.O.B looks like, I would say that she looks like a mic that has a bit of an extended neck. A decently flexible neck.
Every time I watch a video of someone moving the B.O.B’s neck around, I always feel like their somehow pushing it when it comes to its flexibility and I still feel that way, as I play with the neck on my own B.O.B, but it does alright in terms of flexibility. I feel like because there’s no extra silicone or some accordion-like texture to the neck, it’s not as flexible as it could be. I wouldn’t necessarily list that as a negative.
The part of the B.O.B that you would be holding when in use, has this quilted texture to it that I overheard some fellow sex bloggers poking fun at. Maybe because there are a bunch of wand vibes that look exactly same. Either way, I like it. It feels nice in the hand and the silicone is silky and soft. I have come to appreciate the feel of matte silicone, but what I cannot appreciate is its ability to pick up every single piece of line and pet hair possible.
In Use
Let’s first start off with the placements of the buttons. There okay, I don’t really care them. When B.O.B is in use, its turned up-side down. Making the power-button first, the pattern button second, and the intensity (or speed) button last. I would have preferred the power-button to be last when it’s in use, as I find myself almost turning it off on several occasions, or inadvertently changing the patterns by mistake. It’s annoying but the more you use a toy, the more familiar you become with the placements of the buttons.
The reason why I am annoyed with the button placements on the B.O.B, carries over to my issue with the vibrations. You see, when you turn on a vibrator, you’re probably expecting the strongest speed or intensity to be last right? Like the strongest intensity is NOT the first one you experience as soon as you turn it on. Unfortunately, that’s not the case for the B.O.B. As soon as you turn the B.O.B on, you immediately feel those deliciously strong vibrations, but it’s at highest intensity. I like to pace myself by using the lower intensities first. Then when I’m ready to cum, I use the highest intensity which usually has me looking like I’m being electrocuted. As soon as I turn this on, I have to dial down the intensity down before touching to my labia/clit.
And those vibrations? Don’t get me started. They feel so good. There is an 8:2 ratio going on here. 80% rumbly and 20% buzzy. I find that some vibes that are 100% rumbly, have the power to get me off, but the way the vibrations are carried can make it difficult for me to be stimulated. That small percent of business helps me to focus those vibrations where I need them to be. It also helps that B.O.B’s head is smaller than what you would call a “traditional” wand vibrator, so focusing those vibrations on my vulva and then on my clit I was ready for it was pretty easy. You essentially get both broad and pin-point stimulation here. In other words: I recommend it.
While the patterns aren’t necessarily my thing, I sometimes use them for edging. If you’re a pattern type of gal or guy looking for some strong vibrations, this may be your one-stop-shop.
Let’s talk about battery life, noise, and traveling. I’ve only experienced the B.O.B dying on me once and that was because I was using it on and off and not charging it. I find myself using it for either 20 minutes at a time or 5 minutes after playing with a different toy and using the B.O.B to take me over the edge. It all depends on a combination of how long you use it and which intensity or speed you’re using it that will determine how many sessions you can get out of it. I still think battery life is pretty good though. And charging is pretty simple since all you have to do is impale it onto one of those male chargers that looks like an earphone jack.
When it comes to the noise level, it’s not loud but it’s not quiet. Your gonna hear this thing when your using it. Even under the covers. As for travel, I find that the buttons don’t press easily enough for the B.O.B when jostling around in a bag or suitcase to accidentally turn its self on, so I don’t see why you can’t take it with you when your going out of town.
Final Thoughts
Even though I feel like I relived this experience before, it was actually quite pleasant to go back down memory lane with the Pink B.O.B Lust Silicone Wand. It rekindled my love for wand vibrators and reminded of the amazing orgasms they can give. While I’m not a fan of the pink, I think wand massagers like these are an essential staple in everyone’s sex toy collection no matter your gender and makes a great travel companion.
