Sliquid Naturals Review

Gone are the days of shitty lube. Sliquid is a company that makes personal lubricants with all-natural and naturally derived ingredients. They have a natural and an organic line of lubricants, and they also make other specialty products like body washes, sex toy cleaners, and sexual stimulating gels, which there will be a review on that in the future, but these are just a few of the products they offer that I am mentioning here. For now, I share with you my experience with 5 lubricants I got to try from the Naturals line.

Packaging and Universal Features

All of the Sliquid Lubricants come in a bubble bottle available in 2oz, 4oz, and 8oz. Additionally, they all come with a press cap which I like because it’s easy to open and close and allows for precise application so you can apply it exactly where you want it. All of the Sliquid Naturals Lubricants are glycerine-free, cruelty-free, 100% vegan, hypo-allergenic, non-toxic, and flavor-free, and are uniquely blended to enhance the body’s own natural lubrication. All of them are slick and slippery on contact as it relates my body, but they all do something a little different in terms of feel, texture, and formulation.

I always like to include a little run-down on glycerine or glycerin, whichever way you prefer to spell it. Glycerine is sugar. Sugar is bad for vaginas. Vaginas don’t like sugar. Sugar can cause yeast infections. Now I will say that some women (like myself) don’t experience yeast infections from lubricants with glycerine, but I will say if you can avoid it, then avoid it. You don’t really know if you have a sensitivity to glycerine until you try it for yourself. However, if you are sensitive or prone to recurrent yeast infections from other causes, I would advise you say away from all lubricants that contain glycerine completely.

Sliquid Sassy is one of my favorites because it gives me some cushion for the pushin’. It creates a barrier between me and my toys, or my partner if I’m having partnered sex. It has an almost gel-like consistency without being dense and hard to apply. When I apply it to my body or toys, it still moves with gravity but at a slower pace when compared to a runnier lube like Sliquid H20 or Sliquid Sea. Once it gets warmed up from body heat, it will move a little faster. My favorite purpose for this lubricant is using it with silicone butt plugs. It doesn’t slide off my toys and is decently long-lasting.

I’ve tried Sliquid H20 a while back when I first started using sex toys. It came highly recommended, it was at a time when I was new to using sex toys for penetration and found that over-exerting my body by not giving myself that extra boost of lubrication was proving to be counter-intuitive. Why am I mentioning this? Because Sliquid Sea is exactly like Sliquid H20 in terms of consistency, which is very runny and somewhat thin. It’s on the thinner side of the viscosity scale if you will. The differentiating factor is that Sliquid Sea is made with natural seaweed extracts. The major benefit of these seaweed extracts is that they contain vitamin B12, they reduce inflammation, improves the elasticity of the skin, and is an effective moisturizer. So, without taking away from all of that, I feel like Sliquid Sea is a more enhanced version of Sliquid H20. If I had to choose between which one I would continue to purchase, it would be the Sliquid Sea for the added benefits of the seaweed extracts.

I haven’t re-purchased Sliquid H20 since discovering Sliquid Sassy because I like a thicker lubricant and I pretty much get a two for one with Sassy, but I am also one of the people who likes to interchangeably use their lubes so I’m not using the same thing all the time. They both dry down nicely, but if you re-apply them too much, give or take three applications on top of one another, it can start to feel a little tacky. Nothing a damp washcloth can’t fix.

Review

The makings of a good silicone lube lie in the simplicity of its ingredients. Truth be told, silicone lubricants do not need a ton of ingredients to make it “good” or “of great quality.” In fact, in this very case, less is always more. Silver only contains 3 ingredients. Me likey a lotty. Sliquid Silver, while very thin in consistency, still has a slow run to it. While I have my preferences on different lubes I use for different types of sex, when the spirit moves me, I like using this with metal butt plugs and foreplay with my partner. Out of all the lubes mentioned today, I like using Sliquid Silver as a handjob lube. Its ridiculously slippery, so less work on the hands and I personally feel because it’s so thin, that it enhances the sensation of touch.

I know the other lubricants from the naturals line can do the same thing, but there’s just something about this one. Like I can feel every detail of my partner when I’m touching him. It just all comes together for a great experience for both of us. And between you and me, I love how shiny it looks when I apply it to his skin and other regions. Speaking of skin, this particular lube has the most versatility in and outside of the bedroom. I like using it for sensual massages, to prevent chaffing, and as a de-frizzing serum when I do twist outs on my hair. It smooths down the cuticle of my hair and gives me an added boost of shine.

As for using this on silicone sex toys, yea don’t. Silicone lubricants are not compatible with silicone sex toy materials as they can degrade the material and void the retailer and manufacturer warranties. If your feeling froggy, I suggest doing a small spot test on the toy before completely covering your toy with silicone lubricant. I have tried it with such toys as the We-Vibe Gala because let’s be honest, I’ll probably never use that toy again, and it did show some signs of deterioration on the teeny weeny small spot that I applied to, rubbing it in circular motions. So I wouldn’t even suggest taking the chance.

Review

Mentholated lubricants are iffy for me because I sometimes can’t decipher if it feels cold or hot when I apply it to my genitals at first. A lubricant can say that’s its “warming” but gives off a cooling sensation and vice versa. The Sliquid Sizzle confused me at first because it says that’s it’s a cooling lubricant that is designed to cool on contact but warm with friction. When I think of the word “Sizzle,” the closest thing that comes to mind is the moment when cold meat touches a hot oiled pan and the “Ssssss” sound it makes on contact.

Ironically enough, this was one of the lubes I enjoyed the most. The consistency leans to the thicker side similar to that of the Sliquid Sassy. In fact, with the comfort, I could say that this is the temperature-enhanced version of Sliquid Sassy. Sliquid does make a stimulation clit gel that I really enjoyed a couple years ago, and the effects of it are quite similar to Sliquid Sizzle. The cooling on contact in my opinions more so comes from the cold lubricant touching your genitals when you first squeeze it out of the bottle. It then warms up as you rub it in, but when you stop rubbing it in, you get this invigorating feeling similar to chewing a piece of Dentyne Ice gum.

In terms of how long the actual sensation lasts, for me, it lasted about 5 minutes at its most intense moments, and the last 5 minutes it got less intense but was still pleasant. So 10 minutes total. I didn’t feel uncomfortable or itchy during or after applying it. I didn’t find myself needing to run to the bathroom to get a washcloth to wipe it off like I’ve had to with some lubricants that provide the same stimulation but wasn’t as well-formulated as the Sizzle. You can reactivate it with some water, but I don’t think the sensation will be as intense or existent.

Review

I only have one other Hybrid lubricant that I love. Liquid Silk. It’s not easy to get my hands on these days, and it’s not cost-effective by any means when I actually do find it. Sliquid Silk has come to replace it. It is slightly thicker than Sliquid Sassy, and while it can be used for all types of sex, it is not recommended that you use it with your silicone sex toys. If you are willing to risk it all in the name of a good lube and orgasms, I highly, and by highly I mean you better do it or else, do a spot test on your toy before slathering this stuff all over it. Silicone sex toys are not compatible with silicone lubricants as they can degrade the toy’s materials, thus avoiding any warranty put in place by the retailer (where you bought it from) or the manufacturer (the people who made it).

Oh my goodness, where are my manners? I forgot to fill you in on what a hybrid lubricant is. *Clears throat* Hybrid lubricants are a combination of a water-based lubricant and a silicone-based lubricant. With a Hybrid lubricant, you get the benefits of a water-based lubricant (moisture, natural-feeling) with the benefits of a silicone-based lubricant (slippery, longer-lasting) which provides a silky feel that isn’t drying to the skin works with the body rather than against it.

The thickness of the Sliquid Silk creates a barrier between me and my toys and my partner. Additionally, I like it for use with butt plugs, but I feel like where it shines when I use it with my glass and metal sex toys. And shout out to this stuff, not running all over the place when I apply it to my sex toy.  I aslo find that if you re-activate it with water, you will get more of the silicone side of slipperieness then the water side. There’s deffinetly no need to re-apply this lube, just use water.

Final Thoughts

This review was a bit difficult to write because of how simple Sliquid is. While trying to be as impartial as possible, I honestly feel like you can’t go wrong with anything from Sliquid. Their an industry favorite and they have something for everyone. There are no smoke n’ mirrors with this company. No crazy ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Just lube and a good time. Well, the good time is sold separately, but you get the gist. It isn’t easy for me to pick favorites from the ones I tried because I like them all, but I will say the most interesting ones were Silk, Sea, and Sizzle. But I recommend all of them. Seriously. You can’t wrong no matter which one you choose.
